Daily Facts, Unnützes Wissen ("the App") is operated by BitAutor UG (haftungsbeschränkt). This page describes how the app handles data. The same text is available in the app under Settings → Legal. Bundle ID: com.bitautor.unwissen

2. Summary (store declaration)

• No registration, no login
• No tracking, no ads in version 1.1
• No personal data on our servers
• Core features work offline on your device
• Optional download of public fact text (Supabase), without user profiles

For Google Play and the Apple App Store we declare: Data Not Collected by us as the developer. Store operators may process their own data when you download the app.

3. What data is stored locally on your device?

The app stores data locally on your device only, including in SQLite and device preferences (SharedPreferences):

• Language, theme (light/dark/system), daily fact count, notification time
• Category filters and onboarding settings
• Favorites, history, and streak statistics
• Preloaded fact content (offline, approx. 1700 facts in 20 categories)
• Android widget content (local facts only, no server transfer)

There is no user account. We do not receive or access this local data.

4. Sharing, notifications, widget

Sharing:When you share a fact, the app opens your device's system share sheet. You choose where the text goes. We do not receive the shared content.

Notifications: If enabled, the app schedules a local reminder on your device (with a preview of the first fact). No push servers or external notification services are used.

Widget (Android): Displays locally stored facts. No data is sent to us.

5. Optional fact sync (Supabase)

When enabled in your app version and an internet connection is available, the app may fetch new public fact text from a Supabase server. The app does not send user profiles, account data, favorites, history, or device IDs. The hosting provider may technically process connection data such as your IP address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. App stores and third parties

When you download, update, or purchase via Google Play or the Apple App Store, the respective store operator may process its own data (e.g. device information). We have no control over this. Please refer to Google's and Apple's privacy policies.

7. No ads, no tracking (v1.1)

Version 1.1 contains no advertising, no analytics tracking, and no in-app purchases. We do not use advertising SDKs.

8. Legal bases

• Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: providing the app features you use
• Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: optional download of public fact text

9. Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in device settings or uninstall the app. Data we do not store on our servers cannot be deleted by us separately.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing. Contact info@bitautor.de. Because we do not operate user accounts and do not store personal app data on our servers, many requests can only be handled in a limited way.

12. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated when needed (e.g. when ads are introduced in a later version). The current version is available on this page and in the app.
