1. Data controller
Controller for this website:
BitAutor UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Vahrenwalder Str. 315A, 30179 Hannover, Germany
Phone: +49 (0) 157 55331915
Email: info@bitautor.de
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is provided via Firebase App Hosting (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; operated via Google Cloud). When you visit the site, technical data may be processed in server log files, including IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This is required to operate and secure the website. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). We have a data processing agreement with Google under Art. 28 GDPR. Data may be processed outside the EU where appropriate safeguards apply.
3. Contact
Our contact form does not upload data to our servers. It opens a pre-filled email in your mail client. Your details (name, email address, message) are only sent when you send that email yourself. You can also contact us directly by email or phone. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual inquiry).
4. Appointment booking (Calendly)
If you book a meeting via Calendly, you leave our website and use Calendly LLC's service. Calendly may process personal data such as your name, email address and appointment details. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Provider: calendly.com/privacy.
5. Agent demo
The protected agent demo uses a technical session cookie ("ba_demo_session") after you enter an access code. It stores no personal profile, only that the demo session is unlocked. The verification endpoint may temporarily process your IP address for rate limiting. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (abuse prevention and demo operation).
6. BitAutor advisor (beta)
The BitAutor advisor on /en/advisoranswers questions about published BitAutor offers and is usable without an access code. On first use a technical session cookie ("ba_advisor_session") with a random, non-personal identifier is set. A second technical cookie ("ba_advisor_usage") stores only a signed question counter for abuse prevention. Chat history stays in your browser and is not stored on our servers. Do not enter confidential or personal data into the chat. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure beta operation and abuse prevention).
To generate answers, your question text and selected public knowledge excerpts are sent to DeepSeek (Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd.), a provider based in the People's Republic of China, via its API. There is no EU Commission adequacy decision for the People's Republic of China under Art. 45 GDPR, and to our current knowledge we do not have confirmed Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR in place with DeepSeek. Several European data protection authorities have opened proceedings concerning DeepSeek's international data transfers, and the Italian supervisory authority (Garante) has temporarily restricted DeepSeek's use. Because of this situation, we only transfer your question if you have explicitly agreed in a dedicated in-chat prompt before your first message (Art. 49(1) subpara. 1(a) GDPR). Without this consent, no transfer takes place. Your consent is stored as a technical marker in your browser; you can withdraw it at any time by clearing that marker in your browser settings and no longer using the advisor. Provider information: deepseek.com. We do not use the advisor for analytics or marketing profiling. Please only enter general questions that cannot be linked to you or third parties personally. The advisor is an AI system; you are explicitly informed of this before first use (Art. 50 EU AI Act). Answers are generated automatically, can contain errors and do not constitute binding advice.
7. Optional Formbricks agent potential check
The agent potential check works locally in your browser by default. A configured Formbricks instance is contacted only after you actively start the check. In that case, Formbricks may process your answers and technical request data such as IP address, page URL, browser, device and language. Our integration does not send your name, email address or a BitAutor user ID. The purpose is to provide the requested initial assessment. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual inquiry). The responsible operator and processing location depend on the Formbricks host configured at the time. More information: formbricks.com/privacy-policy. If the external service is unavailable or not configured, answers stay in your browser and are discarded when the page is closed or reloaded.
8. Cookies and local storage
We do not use analytics, marketing or tracking cookies. The site stores your light/dark preference in local storage ("color-scheme") in your browser. The demo session and advisor usage cookies are described in sections 5 and 6. The agent potential check described in section 7 is not loaded automatically and is not used for analytics or marketing. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (user-friendly and secure operation). If we add analytics or marketing tools later, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.
9. Retention
Personal data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose or as required by law. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider's policies. Emails you send us are kept for the duration of the inquiry and any statutory retention periods.

You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erasure where no legal retention applies
- Restrict processing
- Data portability
- Object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR
- Withdraw consent with effect for the future
